It is very interesting when a bollywood film comes with an interesting title. Lafangey parindey is one of the titles that excited me this year. I am glad that the Censor Board is allowing this kind of titles now and not having the scissors woven at them. Lafangey Parindey which means Rogue Birds in Hindi is the latest offering from Yash Raj Films and is directed by the ‘Parineeta’ man Pradeep Sarkar. This film stars the unusual pair of Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Paduokone. Neil portrays a rough character in the film who teaches a blind Deepika how to see and in turn she teaches him how to love. Hmm an interesting Film. R.Anandh, a relative new comer has composed the music of the film. It is heartening to see so much young talent coming up. First it was Amit Trivedi then Anandh, looks like the future of Hindi film music is in safe hands now. This album has an nice feel to it and songs are all actually pretty ok.

The album begins with the title track “Lafangey Parindey” which actually starts of pretty good with an international feel but as soon as it hits the right note the composer messes the things a little bit. The
voice of Ronit Sarkar does not do any good either. The song is only a passable fare, but some more dedication from the singer or the composer xould have made the song a nice one. Net in line comes from my favorite singer. Mohit Chauhan croons the mike for “Man Lafanga” who takes the song to another level. People are now expecting more from the melody king Mohit to deliver the goods everytime. Basically he has got a very manly voice which is even adored by A.R.Rahman. The feel of song is the same you heard in various films such as delhi-6 and kaminey but it’s the magic in the voice that saves the track. It was also nice to hear the composer improvising a bit with Goan Tunes toward the latter half. After that sweet song the scene completely changes with “Dhatad tatad”, a typical 1980’s number which has a marathi feel to it. Shail Hada and Anushka have lent their vocals and the fast paced song is sure going to be included in popularity ratings. The husky voice of the “Khuda Jane” girl Shilpa Rao makes the next track “Nain Parindey” the best among all. This lazy yet catchy song has nice lyrics to it which explains the feelings of a blind girl. Next up is “Rang Daalein” a typical urban number with lot of slow and hard rock mixed in to it. This song is mainly written to target today’s youth with care free attitude. This track will also connect with the youth quickly. Suraj Jagan has sung this song. Lastly there is the instrumental “Born to fly” which is a culmination of all the tracks. The composer has ensured to include the instrumental of all the songs in the movie. A mix of violin and guitar makes this instrumental a pleasant hearing

Verdict: A good album with an urban feel to it. BUY IT IF YOU LIKE
