The first thing we noticed in Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon starrer Stepmom is the power packed performance of its principal cast. So when Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar started their attempt to remake this 1998 mega blockbuster the first question was who will portray the main protagonists. To be fare Karan and Sidharth have hit the bulls eye in casting as they have fitted the two best actors for that role. Kareena and Kajol are back together after K3G and eases through the complex roles like a cake walk. We are family is not just a sorrow film; it is a film of mixed emotions and feelings.



Usually in hindi cinema the “sauten” is depicted as an evil woman trying to steal the husband in seducing ways. But what this film try to tell is that how two women’s can manage a family and the kids. Both Kajol and Karena have done justice to their tough roles, Arjun Rampal has done what he does best, to play the second fiddle (third in this case) but the show stealers are the three kids and it is them who stops the film from a tear-pouring one. I think this film will be liked by many families especially women.
This film’s story is set in Australia and revolves around a family. Aman (Arjun Rampal) is married to Maya (Kajol), a no nonsense women who wants everything to be perfect in the family. They have also three kids, Aleya, Ankush and Anjali. These characters are played by Anchal, Nominath and the cute Diya respectively. Though the family looks perfect the fact is that Aman and Maya is a divorced couple. Maya stays back for the sake of her kids. The scenario takes a turn when Aman falls in love with a carrier oriented woman Shreya (Kareena Kapoor) and decides to bring her home. To make the matter worse Maya has a terminal cancer and has a few months left to live. Now the story unfolds with a question that can the two women can stay in the same house shepherding the kids. There are lot of funny scenes between the new stepmom Shreya and the kids. Note the particular scene between the youngest girl and Kareena in the film; it will certainly make you laugh.

For starters this film entirely belongs to Kajol and Kareena. The two protagonists share a love hate relationship which has been brilliantly portrayed by arguably the two best actresses in our country. The point argues, bloody stares between the two are all well captured by the director. Though the film began to sluggish post interval with the usual rona dhona it certainly picked up in the climax scenes. Writers could have avoided the usual clichés in the second half. The climax is well taken and will leave you with a lasting impression.
Shankar Ehsaan Loy has composed the music for this film, though as I must admit some of the tracks sound familiar to their early tunes. The rock song might give an ear ache but for the brilliant dance moves by the main characters. Mohanan has done a decent job behind the camera and Niranjan’s dialogue is first rate. If you have loved Baghban and Barjatya’s Films you are sure to be in love with We are Family. It is a near perfect film to watch with your whole family. But for the movie goers like me who likes little bit less sadness and whole lot of action and comedy wait for the DVD to release.

It is a good information about "WE ARE FAMILY" movie. It is remake of Step MOM movie. WE ARE FAMILY is the nice movie. I saw it before two days. Kajol is my favourite actress. I like the chemistry between Kajol and kareena Kapoor in the movie.
