The Music lucky charm Emraan Hashmi has come back and this time also his magic remains the same as we have seen from his first film Murder , then a series of musical hit film such as Gangster, Awarapan, The Killer, Jannat and finally the last year musical hit film Tum Mile. Another main reason for the music hit of the movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai is none other than his Directorr who always select the accurate person for his film as we have seen in his first film Kachache Dhaage. In which he had late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Pritam and Mohit when work together its sure that we can accept anything great from their combination such as Tum Se hi (Jab We Met) and the recent Love Aaj Kal. In this album the very first song Pee Loon is just enough to describe the thrill created by this combination. The song is eloquently striking love limerick. The song Pee Loon is great mixture of romantic and Qawaali. The Song ‘Pee Loon’ remixed by DJ A-myth has a great melody in the Movie, which has a immense tempo.
Another romantic track “Tum Jo Aaye” a duet by Tulsi Kumar and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Like Pee Loon it is also give a Sufi essence. This song has won the hearts of all the youth and even oldies also. The song Tum Jo Aaye is done in a reprise version is the solo by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. In this song the the lyrics and the music is also changed greatly. The singer has given a very good Sufi touch to the song which is really extraordinary.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai has a full retro effect in the movie. Then how come it could not have a Cabaret in the movie. It has a single Cabaret in the movie which is remix version of the two old renowned songs as ‘Priya tu ab tu aa jaa’ and ‘Duniya mein logon ko’ these two songs have mixed very well and become the party song for the year for all youths.
Lastly it has a fast track ‘Baburao mast hai’ which is an immediate strike on the charts. Mika has done a great job with the song. The lyrics have written in complete ‘Topari’ style.
On the whole Once Upon A time In Mumbaai comes with a great combination of sufi and Indian instrumental music, Which we had heard long back in A.R.Rehman’s Mombay. Pritam has done a immense work, the lyrics are witten with a touch of silent and romantic. The songs Pee loon and Tum jo aye have hits the charts and has became favourites to all the youth. The cabaret song Priya tu ab tu aa jaa has become a party song of the year.
