This year we have seen a movie by name ‘Well Done Abba’ by Shyam Benegal and the movie Peepli Live is also on the same theme. One more movie by Shyam Benegal was Welcome To Sajjanpur’ also demonstrated the same conditions of Indian rural farmers state. Both of these movie were unrecognized. The movie Peepli Live would also have bearded the same box office report but this couldn’t be the same because one of the names attached to this movie Amir Khan. Who has produced this movie! So people can’t miss this movie just by his name.

Natha (Omkar Das Manikpuri) is not in a condition to repay the bank loan which he has taken to save his land. In family Natha has one wife, three children and a bed-ridden Mother. Natha when meets a local leader come to know about a government scheme that whenever a farmer commits suicide his family gets a compensation of one lakh rupees.

Budhia , his brother anyhow forces him to commit suicide, before Natha decides anything this news was spread to a local news reporter Rakesh and the suicide of Natha becomes the breaking news in the city news channel.

And then Natha suicide news becomes a national news by ITVN news reporter Nandita Malik. Every one waits for the live suicide of a farmer. The policemen, politicians administrators all are busy iin making this news to a great blunder. Natha becomes the center of attraction in media. The movie also shows the various government schemes for the farmer. Amir Khan has done a huge publicity of the movie which in turn leads to more money to him.

Mainly the movie shows the real face of media which can use their power to any extent so that their channel TRP increases. The movie also shows the reality of the politicians who are presently interested in gaining votes by just making fake promises to the poor people.

Anusha Rizvi has done an extraordinary work by making this movie. The movie script is bold and is the shows the real image of the media and the politicians. Amir Khan has done a great publicity of the movie. And how can we forget the co-director Mahmood Farooqui who is also casting director this work has been expertly. Many of the actors are unknown in the movie and being their first film they have done a fabulous job. In the whole movie you can just find two known actors Raghubir Yadav and Naseeruddin Shah (cameo). Omkar Das Manikpuri makes a first grand debut as Natha, the escort character. Farooq Jaffar as the Amma and Shalini Vatsa as Dhaniya are excellent. The music unify well with the movie. The music has a whole folk effect.

Overall the movie is good entertaining, i suggest you to watch this movie once in theatres. Its humorous you will have fun for three hours. The movie mainly exhibits your own daily lives.

Peepli Live can entertain you. But this movie has no power that it can stay in your mind for longer time. A simple to be watch,
